Built by hockey families.
Three siblings, twenty-plus seasons of competitive hockey between us. The youngest is on the Hamilton Steel U15 AAA roster right now. We've installed every team app on the market — and watched them all break in the same ways.
What we saw
The same complaints, year after year
Login broken at the worst moments. Push notifications silent during cancellations. Documents compressed to illegibility. Admin tools stuck on desktop only. Live scores in a separate app entirely. Premium upsell popups every launch.
These aren't edge cases. They're the median experience for parents and coaches across every minor hockey association in Canada.
Why we built it
For families, by families
Every feature is something a parent we know complained about. Every screen is something we'd trust our own kids' coaches to use.
The schedule keeps working when the rink Wi-Fi doesn't. Push notifications actually arrive when a game gets cancelled. Documents stay readable. Live scores show up the moment your kid's team scores. That's the bar.
What we won't do
Three commitments
- No ads. Not banners, not "premium upgrades," not interstitial popups. Parents pay nothing and get everything.
- No data sales. Your roster, schedule, and messages are yours. We never share, sell, or rent them.
- No per-parent fees. Organizations pay one flat number per team. Bigger roster doesn't mean bigger bill.
Where we are
Hamilton, Ontario
Canadian-owned and Canadian-hosted. Not VC-funded. Not optimizing for an exit. We build the product slowly, ship it daily, and listen to the people using it. If you have a feature request, it goes straight to one of the people writing the code.
Who runs it
Two founders
The team is small on purpose. One person on engineering, one on operations and outreach. Both grew up at the rink. You can email hello@rinkside.app and a real person reads it.
